In order to implement the decision on the cooperative development of Suzhou Industrial Park made by the leaders of China and Singapore, and under the advocacy and support of Deputy Prime Minister Li Lanqing, SIPC(also known as Chinese Consortium) was established in 1996, comprising of fourteen central, provincial and municipal state-owned major enterprises, as the Chinese investor to perform the shareholder’s obligations to China-Singapore SIP Development Group Co., Ltd. (CSSD).
